Matt Kneale
Founder & Lead Engineer
Full-stack developer with over eight years of experience building web platforms for membership organisations, professional bodies, and small businesses across the UK. Background in React, TypeScript, Go, and WordPress — with a focus on clean architecture and code that the next developer can actually read.
Before founding ember., Matt worked across healthcare technology and publishing, building everything from patient-facing platforms to editorial CMS systems. That background shapes how ember. approaches every project: understand the problem first, then build the simplest thing that solves it properly.
Who do we work with?
ember. works best with membership organisations, professional bodies, and small businesses that need more than an off-the-shelf template can offer. If your website is core to how your organisation operates — handling memberships, payments, content publishing, or internal tooling — that's where we add the most value.
We're a solo studio, not an agency. That means you work directly with the person writing the code — no account managers, no handoffs, no lost context. Projects typically run from four to twelve weeks depending on scope.
